India and the African Union have decided to postpone the India-Africa Forum Summit scheduled to be held next week in New Delhi, due to the 'emerging public health situation' in Africa, India's foreign ministry said on Thursday, in an apparent reference to the Ebola outbreak.

A major summit of the African Union and India scheduled to be held in Delhi from May 28 has been postponed due to the 'evolving health situation in parts of Africa', the government said in a statement today.

In view of the emerging public health situation in Africa owing to the Ebola outbreak, the upcoming India-Africa Forum Summit has now been postponed.
