US officials previously said the man accused of ramming a truck full of explosives into a synagogue had recently lost family in Lebanon.
The Israeli military alleges that Ibrahim Ghazali, killed in a Lebanese airstrike, was a Hezbollah commander, and that his brother, Ayman Ghazali, attacked a Michigan synagogue a week later.
Two violent incidents occurred on March 13, 2026: one at Old Dominion University in Virginia and another at Temple Israel in Michigan, both involving individuals with recent personal losses.
