China has been working to reduce tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan and is prepared to continue playing a constructive role in easing the situation, according to China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged against the spread of Afghanistan-Pakistan tensions, emphasizing the need to prevent further escalation and return to negotiations as soon as possible.

China's special envoy on Afghan Affairs is currently shuttling between Afghanistan and Pakistan to promote peace talks between the two neighbors, according to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
