En 2024, las infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS) alcanzaron niveles récord en Europa, con un aumento significativo de gonorrea y sífilis, según informes del Centro Europeo para la Prevención y el Control de las Enfermedades (ECDC). España figura entre los países más afectados.
Bakteriella sexuellt överförbara könssjukdomar ökar kraftigt i Europa, med rapporterade fall av gonorré och syfilis som når rekordhöga nivåer, enligt den europeiska smittskyddsmyndigheten ECDC.
Across Europe, cases of gonorrhoea reached 106,331 in 2024, a 303% increase on 2015. Chlamydia remains the most frequently reported STI, with 213,443 cases.
Laut der Europäischen Gesundheitsbehörde ECDC sind Chlamydien die am häufigsten gemeldete sexuell übertragbare Infektion. Eine Erklärung für den Anstieg ist ein Rückgang bei der Nutzung von Kondomen.
