The Belgian State, ENGIE S.A., and Electrabel NV/SA have signed a Letter of Intent setting out the framework for exclusive negotiations regarding the potential acquisition by the Belgian State of ENGIE's and Electrabel's nuclear activities, encompassing the full scope of the nuclear fleet of seven reactors and associated assets and liabilities.
The Belgian government has begun talks to take direct ownership of the country's seven nuclear power reactors, with all decommissioning and dismantling works suspended to ensure that all options remain available to the Belgian State.
