Bank of America har gått med på att betala närmare 700 miljoner kronor i en civilrättslig förlikning kopplad till Jeffrey Epstein, enligt Reuters. Flera offer för sexuella övergrepp har stämt banken med anklagelser om att den möjliggjorde människohandel genom att ignorera misstänkta transaktioner relaterade till Epsteins verksamhet. Offren menar att banken såg mellan fingrarna på flera varningsflaggor och därmed prioriterade vinst framför att skydda utsatta individer. Bank of America förnekar dessa anklagelser men har valt att gå med på förlikningen för att kunna sätta punkt för ärendet. Förlikningen måste fortfarande godkännas av en domare innan den träder i kraft.
