A sharp rise in commercial LPG prices from April 1 is beginning to sting small food businesses in Delhi, with some eateries resorting to unconventional alternatives to stay afloat. A viral video shows a street-side vendor using diesel as a substitute cooking fuel.
In light of rising global oil prices due to the ongoing West Asia conflict, commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) rates have been increased by ₹195.5. The price of a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at ₹2,078.50, according to state-owned oil companies.
Indian fuel retailers have increased jet fuel and commercial LPG prices following a sharp rise in global prices due to the Iran war. The price of aviation turbine fuel has been raised by 8.58% to 1,04,927 rupees per kilolitre, and commercial LPG by 10.38% to 2,078.50 rupees per 19 kg cylinder in New Delhi.
Oil marketing companies have raised commercial LPG and aviation turbine fuel prices amid the global energy crisis. The price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was hiked by Rs 195.5, and ATF for domestic airlines rose by 114.55% to ₹207,341.22 per kilolitre in Delhi.
