Lotus announces a shift from a fully electric lineup to a hybrid-led strategy, aiming to launch its first supercar, the Type 135, in 2028, with a portfolio split of 60% hybrid and 40% battery electric vehicles under the 'Focus 2030' plan.

Lotus is resurrecting the iconic Esprit nameplate for a V8 hybrid supercar as part of a major strategic pivot toward electrified combustion power, with the new Esprit set to be built in Europe and go on sale in 2028.

Lotus confirms its new electrified X-hybrid powertrain will debut in the 939bhp Lotus Eletre X, with the hybrid Eletre set to debut in China at the end of March, before arriving in Europe this summer and the UK in 2027.
