Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) and Shell inspected the infrastructure and production of a significant gas reception and distribution complex in Monagas state, aiming to strengthen gas handling and production capabilities.

Venezuela granted Shell a license for the first phase of exploration and exploitation of the Loran gas field, a cross-border field shared with Trinidad and Tobago, marking a historic step after 23 years of inactivity.

Venezuela and Shell signed five energy agreements, including Shell's participation in the offshore Loran gas field, shared with Trinidad and Tobago and estimated to have reserves of 7 trillion cubic feet.
