In the early hours of May 1, Russian forces launched a drone strike on Odesa and the southern districts of the region. Drones hit residential apartment buildings in Odesa's Khadzhibeyskyi district, sparking fires and injuring residents. Occupying forces also targeted the port infrastructure of the Izmail district in the Odesa region.

Following a Russian attack on the Odesa region on April 26, a spill of sunflower oil was recorded in the waters of the port of Chornomorsk. The attack damaged the port's infrastructure, leading to the oil spill.
