Watch: Drone delivers first Amazon parcels in UK

The tech giant says it hopes to slowly expand the service as the demand for ultra-fast deliveries grows.

Amazon has launched its Prime Air drone delivery service in Darlington, County Durham, marking the first drone deliveries in the UK. The service delivers packages weighing less than 5lb within a 7.5-mile radius in under two hours.

Amazon Prime Air has commenced its first UK drone deliveries in Darlington, County Durham, operating under a Civil Aviation Authority trial until the end of 2026. The service is limited to 10 flights per hour and 100 deliveries per day on weekdays, with packages up to 5 pounds within a 7.5-mile radius.
